2017 Five Star Wealth Manager Award Bestowed upon

Five Star Professional partnered with Connecticut Magazine to identify and showcase an exclusive group of wealth managers who have demonstrated excellence in their field. Laurence N. Hale, AAMS, CRPS®, at Weiss & Hale Financial, LLC, will be featured in a special section of the December issue of Connecticut Magazine as a 2017 Five Star Wealth Manager award winner.

The 2017 Five Star Wealth Manager award winners have been carefully selected for their commitment to providing quality services to their clients. The award is based on an in-depth research process incorporating peer and firm feedback with objective criteria, such as client retention rates, client assets administered, industry experience, and regulatory and complaint history.
“Based on our evaluation, the wealth managers we recognize are committed to pursuing professional excellence and have a deep knowledge of their industry. They strive to provide exemplary care to the people they serve,” stated Dan Zdon, CEO, Five Star Professional.

Based on 10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria, including a minimum of 5 years as an active credentialed financial professional, favorable regulatory and complaint history, accepts new clients, client retention rates, client assets administered, education, and professional designations. 1,983 Connecticut wealth managers were considered for the award; 433 (22 percent of candidates) were named 2017 Five Star Wealth Managers. James Zahansky Earns Accredited Wealth Management Advisor℠ Designation
Pomfret Center, CT (July, 2017) — Jim Zahansky recently earned the Accredited Wealth Management Advisor℠, AWMA®, designation from the College for Financial Planning. Jim is Principal/Managing Partner and Chief Goal Strategist at Weiss & Hale Financial, along with Principal/Managing Partner Laurence Hale, AAMS, CRPS®, and Partner Jim Weiss, AAMS, RLP™. As a designee, Zahansky is now recognized as a professional on wealth management. To receive such accreditation, one must complete a specialized wealth management educational program and pass a rigorous examination in addition to abiding by standards of professional conduct.

Weiss & Hale Financial Director Appointed to TEEG Board of Directors
Pomfret Center, CT (March, 2017) — Heather O’Rourke, Director of Financial Planning at Weiss & Hale Financial, has been chosen as a valued member of Thompson Ecumenical Empowerment Group (TEEG’s) Board of Directors. Heather remarked, “As a lifelong resident of the northeast corner, I am dedicated to the mission at TEEG, and I enjoy being a part of an organization that works with our local community, and in helping those in need.”
Heather anchors the service and operations team at Weiss & Hale Financial in Pomfret Center, Connecticut, with more than 25 years in the financial services business. Weiss & Hale Financial Principal James Zahansky added, "It is a part of our mission to give back to our local community. We are proud of Heather's appointment and the work that she and TEEG do in our region."
Heather has held positions at Paul Revere, First Union in Worcester; Merrill Lynch; and Advest, where she was honored with the distinguished Client Service Award. She holds a producer's license for life and health insurance and the FINRA Series 7 securities registration, and she earned the Registered Paraplanner designation from the College for Financial Planning. Heather’s commitment to clients and community is evidenced by her continued, dedicated volunteer work with The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp for families and their children facing serious illness, and in helping to rescue dogs in need at Dog Orphans Society in Douglas, Massachusetts.

This distinction allows Jim Zahansky, investment advisor and goals-based planner, team builder, and former marketing vice president, to help the Chamber develop excellent programs for our region. Jim is also involved with organizations like Frog Rock Basketball, QVCC Foundation, and other charitable organizations in the area. This Board position provides beneficial opportunities for the community, and Zahansky, a life-long native of the area, commented, “I look forward to helping with Board’s community endeavors and helping the Chamber expand the reach and scope of our NECT Chamber programs and membership.
